Leigh Youth Hub’s SEN residential at Low Bank Ground saw young people challenge themselves and create unforgettable memories.
Leigh Youth Hub’s recent SEN residential at Low Bank Ground was an outstanding success, with nine young people excelling and pushing themselves beyond their comfort zones to complete a range of tasks. Throughout the residential, every young person embraced the opportunities and challenges presented to them, showing remarkable resilience and determination.
The group took part in a wide range of adventurous activities, including:
- Canoeing
- Sailing
- Paddle boating
- Speedboating
- Climbing
- Abseiling
For many of our young people, these activities meant trying something completely new and out of their comfort zone. The determination shown by the young people in rising to each challenge was nothing short of inspiring. All the young people involved supported one another and proved just how much they are capable of when given the same opportunity as everyone else has.
The dedication and commitment of the staff team throughout the residential was second to none. Their encouragement and patience in the young people created a safe and supportive environment where everyone could thrive. This incredible opportunity would not have been possible without their hard work and support. Thank you to our Youth Workers Hannah and Dec, and our Senior Youth Worker Karen for making the trip possible, providing support and belief in all the young people who attended.
Seeing young people return home happy and full of stories meant the world to their families. Kelly reflected, “Thank you all so much for looking after Jess. She had a brilliant time and said she would go again; we truly appreciate the time and effort you put into our kids”
The Low Bank Ground residential has left the young people with new skills, increased confidence, and memories that will stay with them for years to come. We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part and helped make this experience such a success.
