Leigh Bike Library is located at Leigh Youth Hub on the Sports Village site.
The Bike Library service in partnership with Be Well Wigan allows you to loan bikes, helmets, locks and other cycling equipment absolutely free of charge.
The idea is simple and works very much like a book library, meaning you can borrow a bike and/or other items for up to two months at a time. We also provide an option to purchase the bike at a reduced cost at the end of the loan period. Whether it’s for commuting or for leisure, our fleet of more than 25 bikes are available in a range of sizes. As part of our service, you can benefit from of our ‘Dr Bike’ service with free bike checks and basic repairs to keep you on the road.
- The service runs on the first Saturday of every month from our Enterprise Room, from 9am-12pm.
- The team also operates on the first & third Monday of each month: 5pm-7pm (Excluding bank holudays)
You can also take advantage of our wide range of other services offered as part of ‘Leigh Cycle Hub’ which include the following:
- Free bike checks and basic repairs provided by Gearing Up Cycle Workshop. Just turn up with your bike when the bike library is open.
- Family friendly Pedal Parties – Let’s Ride – Pedal Party (letsride.co.uk)
- Bikeability Balance (4-6 year olds) and Learn to Ride (6-12 year olds) cycle training.
- Wigan and Leigh Girls Cycling Club. A girls only cycling club for 11-16 year olds.
