Leigh Youth Hub has officially unveiled a commemorative plaque recognising its strong and growing partnership with Leigh Rotary Club.
The Rotary Club’s commitment to local causes
Rotary Club of Leigh has played a significant role in enhancing youth opportunities in Leigh, through their support and partnership with Leigh Youth Hub. As many of the Hub’s sessions and activities are offered free of charge, external support and partnerships created from community fundraising is vital to keeping these provisions accessible for everyone to enjoy.
Their members actively work together to help the community, local groups and charities including raising money for good causes just like Leigh Youth Hub. Their contributions have helped ensure that youth opportunities in our local community can continue to thrive via Leigh Youth Hub free of charge.
Opportunities for Our Young People
A notable highlight for our young people, made possible by the funding of Leigh Rotary is the donation of Leigh Leopards match tickets, giving young people the chance to enjoy live rugby league in the heart of the town at Leigh Sports Village, who wouldn’t ordinarily get that opportunity. Leigh Rotary members have also supported the Hub’s fundraising efforts through their Christmas charity choir and Santa’s sleigh collections, helping to raise funds while spreading festive cheer throughout the town.

Leigh Youth Hub and Leigh Rotary Club Partnership
Rotary of Leigh President, Peter Rowlinson, said, “The Rotary Club of Leigh is a strong supporter of initiatives which help the young people of the area. We heard about the wonderful work of the Leigh Youth Hub, when one of their members visited our club and we very readily agreed to support the work of the team with some funding. We look forward to working with the Hub in future.”
Installation of The Rotary Club Patrons Plaque
It is because of this generosity and the community fundraising shown by Leigh Rotary Club that Leigh Youth Hub has now honoured their ongoing partnership with the installation of a dedicated patron’s plaque. This is proudly displayed within the Leigh Youth Hub building, directly next to the Leigh Past Players plaque, as a symbol of appreciation and partnership with another local community organisation.
Karen Campbell, Senior Youth and Community Worker at Leigh Youth Hub said: “Leigh Youth Hub is incredibly grateful for the generous support and donations from the Rotary Club of Leigh. This funding helps us remove the financial barriers that many young people face. With this support, they can access opportunities and experiences that would otherwise be out of reach, these opportunities build confidence, broaden aspirations and help them thrive.”
